Guidelines for submitting to Echoes of The Right to God online journal:
The right to God is a beautiful, liberating realization. You have the right to God! Seeing that takes the power out of
misconceptions that make us feel that if we work hard enough, we'll earn God's favor, and also the opposite, that we're
so far gone, God couldn't possibly love us. We're out to undo the undercurrent telling people if they follow certain rules,
they'll earn God's favor, as if God is a magic wand. If you can go beyond that, you're ready to write for us. We also
send the message that God already loves you, no matter how far gone you think you are.
While we're actively looking for articles and essays that go beyond our book, we'll consider take-offs on the book. We're
open to seeing your personal story on any of The Right to God's chapters: The Right to God, The Right to Forgiveness,
The Right to Give, or The Right to be Blessed. (Healers & Falsifiers can be a tougher topic, but if you've got something
that heals, we'll look at it.) We're especially interested in hearing from others who've had powerful experiences in prayer.
We think our mission is to build bridges between all kinds of people. We say "we think," because when you're doing what
you believe God calls you to do, you can't be quite sure where it will lead. Yet you do it, anyway. We do believe that
God is good, and God is only good, and we are not open to works that imply or state otherwise. Similarly, we aren't open
to works that pull people away from God, in any way. We are Christian, but we are open to many viewpoints.
Payment: We pay $25 for articles and essays, along with your bio note and link to your site. Works chosen for future
print compilations will be paid a minimum of $25, in addition. (You will be contacted first.) Generally, no longer than 800
words, but we're not rigid. If you can keep our attention longer, go ahead and send it. Again, nothing divisive. It has to
be consistent with our purpose of everyday spirituality for everyday people, and should also support the theme of the
personal right to God, although neither has to be spelled out in the article or essay. If you're not a writer, but have an
inspiring story to tell, send it anyway. If we find it inspirational, we'll work with you on it.
Ready to submit? Email or postal mail is fine. We'll respond within about 3 weeks. We respond to all queries and
submissions, so if you don't hear from us, contact us or send it again. We don't intentionally ignore any submission. We
currently publish online bi-monthly. Articles accepted will usually be published in the next upcoming issue.
