Editor's Notepad Welcome back to Echoes of The Right to God, an online journal of everyday spirituality for everyday people. Whether you're returning or a new reader, thanks for stopping by! Browse the journal, as well as our site. Relax, enjoy and hopefully take something away with you. Announcement! For those who haven't heard, there's a surprise in the announcement about the first Echoes of The Right to God Essay Contest! Also, in the first contest, we received several entries from young people. So, without hesitation, this issue has a separate contest for our younger friends. Click here for rules! We look forward to hearing from you! Along with pieces we hope inspire you, this issue contains a short excerpt from The Right to God for everyday people. You'll also find the beginning of a new feature. Teresa of Avila was a mystic Christian whose 16th century work left an imprint on Christian spirituality. Yet, as much as we love "The Interior Castle," it can be, well, a difficult read. So, in keeping with our mission of everyday spirituality for everyday people, Jennie is interpreting parts of this beautiful work into easy, modern language. If you're curious about our book, The Right to God, check out these reviews, three of them from members of FaithWriters, a huge on-line community of Christian writers. Click here to see what they had to say. On the subject of book reviews, a new book whose meaning way exceeds its target market, Friendship at the Margins, by Christopher Heuertz and Christine Pohl, is a surprising and layered look at how friendship can alter the meaning of "mission field." You don't have to be in the mission field to get something out of this fantastic book. Finally, we're adding ThoughtLines —short thoughts with deep meaning. We hope they inspire you. We hope this journal helps you on your walk. Most of all, we hope you're blessed by reading this. Thanks for stopping by! Browse, share with friends, send us your comments. May mercy, peace and grace be multiplied in your life, Ron & Jennie Dugan |
